Here is what our
Youth Ambassador
Rochelle has to say ...

"I am pleased to have made a positive impact on the work that’s already been done in the service."

Rochelle

I am passionate about the youth ambassador role and ensuring that the voice of the youth is represented throughout all aspects of the service. I was once a young person experiencing difficulties with my own mental health and so I believe that the lived-in experience is key and gives a different perspective and level of understanding.

During my time as youth ambassador, I have linked in with and developed ongoing relationships with the youth clubs in the community. Working collaboratively and holistically on plans and projects to find the best ways to support young people in the local area.

I support outreach, fundraising projects, events in the community and across all schools in Bromley.

I am currently working with the team to create and develop a Youth Leadership Board and Project Focus Groups for our service which will provide a platform for Bromley Y to hear and listen to the voices and feedback from young people which will guide Bromley Y to making improvements and changes in support that young people want to see. We are always looking to ensure that Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is embedded in all we do.

Bromley Y is helping me train as a therapeutic counsellor, which will add to my skills and enable me to support young people more effectively when I am out talking to them at events.

'Thank you' Rochelle
